Jake Horton, a late '94-born forward from Minnesota, has committed to Harvard per a release from his team, the Waterloo Blackhacks of the USHL.
Horton will come to the Crimson with a bevy of junior experience. After a standout freshman season at Tartan High School, Horton chose to move on to the junior hockey ranks. He played for the Janesville Jets of the NAHL for two years, before earning a full-time roster spot with the Blackhawks last year. His season last year was shortened by a nasty cut by a skate blade that nearly severed his Achilles' tendon.
This year, he is an alternate captain with the Blackhawks. Horton has shown some scoring touch as well, scoring 8 points through his first seven games of the season, after three years of relatively modest numbers against much older competition.
