Merrimack College has picked up a commitment from a young forward with a ton of scoring potential. Matt Foget of the Gloucester Rangers has picked the Hockey East school as his NCAA destination.
Foget, a '97 from Orleans, Ont., has seven goals and five assists in 13 games played in his first full season in the CCHL. A 16 year-old putting up almost a point per game in a junior league against a lot of players who are three or four years older is impressive.
The right shot center played bantam and midget hockey with the Ottawa Jr. 67's organization. Foget is expected to arrive in North Andover to play for Mark Dennehy starting with the 2016-17 season.
