John Wiitala, a '95 born forward playing for the Waterloo Blackhawks of the USHL announced today via Twitter that he has committed to play for Ohio State:
Proud to announce my commitment to The Ohio State! Excited to be a Buckeye! #OSU #B1G

Wiitala played high school hockey at Lakeville South in Minnesota through his junior season, where he put up relatively modest statistics, but played a smart, two-way game that helped him make the roster of the Blackhawks last year. So far this season, Wiitala has registered three assists through seven games in Waterloo. Wiitala's father, Marty, played four years of varsity hockey at Wisconsin in the mid-1980s.
