Wisconsin will be without Jedd Soleway in Saturday's regular season finale against Minnesota.
Soleway, a 2013 7th round pick of the Arizona Coyotes, was suspended Saturday one game by the Big Ten for the second time in less than two months after the junior forward received a checking from behind and game misconduct penalty with 32 seconds remaining in the first period of Wisconsin's 4-3 victory. The 6'3", 220 lbs Soleway sent Minnesota's Jake Bischoff into the boards from 5 feet out and away from the puck. Bischoff had to be helped off the ice, but returned in the second period.
Prior to the play, Soleway scored his 6th goal of the season when he tipped in a Luke Kunin shot.
The conference previously suspended Soleway for one game January 30th for a checking from behind penalty and game misconduct against Alaska. Prior to that he had received a boarding penalty on Minnesota's Leon Bristedt the previous week.
It's the fifth time in the last six games between Wisconsin and Minnesota that a Badger player has been suspended for his actions in a game.
