Wisconsin’s Cameron Hughes Scores Goal of the Year Candidate

Wisconsin and Boston College played a high-scoring shootout on Sunday afternoon that had a total of 13 goals in an 8-5 Boston College win. None of the goals were prettier than the one scored by Wisconsin’s Cameron Hughes, a Boston Bruins draft pick, in the second period of the game though, as he scored what might end up being the goal of the year in college hockey this season.

Hughes took a pass from teammate Grant Besse in front of the Boston College net, and he then slipped his stick between his legs and fired a perfect shot into the top shelf of the net over Boston College goalie Joe Woll.

Here’s a couple different angles of the beautiful goal.

That’s the best goal in college hockey so far this season, and though it is early, it’s going to be really tough to top.
