With a few players out of the lineup, Don Lucia has to be creative Friday night.

Without Ben Marshall (suspension), Mike Brodzinski (injury) and Tom Serratore (injury), A.J. Michaelson is listed as the 6th defenseman against Michigan State (8-12-3, 2-4-2-2 Big Ten). It remains to be seen whether or not he skates there or is an extra body. Ryan Reilly dressed but did not play D when the Gophers were in the same position against Colgate and it is possible the team does the same.

Speaking of Reillys, all 3 brothers are in the lineup Friday against Michigan State with Ryan as a fourth line forward in place.

Adam Wilcox gets the nod in net for Minnesota (18-2-4, 7-0-1-0 Big Ten). Jake Hildebrand is listed as the starter for the Spartans, the lone team to take a point from the Gophers in Big Ten play this season with a shootout win in late December.
