Head coach David Berard has hired Peter Roundy as an assistant hockey coach at Holy Cross to replace Juliana Pagliero who departed earlier this offseason to take a similar post with Colgate.
Roundy, a 2010 graduate of Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., had been serving as an associate head coach to Matthew Greason at Division III Trinity College. Roundy helped guide the Bantams to their first national championship in program history.
The Crusaders program has been a breeding ground for assistants in recent years with Jason Guerriero moving on to Yale and Pagliero heading off to Colgate.
The Salem, Mass. native had been on the Trinity staff for the past four seasons. As a player, he scored 28 goals and 63 assists for 91 points in 100 career games for Stonehill.
In his first season at the helm in Worcester, Berard led the Crusaders to a 14-18-5 overall record. Despite being ousted in the first round of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament, it was a nice building block for a Holy Cross program that appears to be heading in the right direction.
Roundy joins current assistant coach Brock Sheahan, a 2008 Notre Dame alum, on the Holy Cross coaching staff.
