Senior forward Andrew Gladiuk recorded a hat trick and sophomore goaltender Jayson Argue stopped 49 of 51 shots to lead Bentley University to a 3-2 upset win over Northeastern University on Friday evening at Matthews Arena.

The Falcons led 1-0 after 20 minutes despite being outshot, 20-2, in the opening frame. Gladiuk scored another in the second and once more in the third to lift Bentley to a 3-0 lead. Kyle Schmidt and Matt Blomquist each picked up two assists for Ryan Soderquist's team.

Colton Saucerman and John Stevens scored third period goals for the Huskies, whose furious comeback bid fell short. Derrick Roy made just eight saves while allowing three goals on 11 shots.

The two teams meet again Saturday night at 7 p.m. at a sold-out John A. Ryan Skating Arena in Watertown, Mass.
