Former UMass Lowell defenseman Greg Amlong has announced via his twitter account that he is transferring to Rochester Institute of Technology. The O'Fallon, Missouri native played his first two seasons for Norm Bazin's River Hawks where he posted one goal and 11 assists in 43 combined games.
Glad to say im commited to finish my college career at RIT. #Tigers

The 22 year-old Amlong played two seasons with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the USHL before plying his trade in Hockey East. RIT head coach Wayne Wilson is getting a solid blue liner who should be able to step in and contribute nicely in Atlantic Hockey.
Amlong will have to sit out the 2014-15 season before being eligible to begin the 2015-16 season unless he can graduate from UMass Lowell and find a graduate program at RIT that UML does not offer.
