Mercyhurst and Robert Morris punched their tickets to the Atlantic Hockey Tournament semifinals at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on Saturday, and on Sunday two more teams joined them.

Niagara needed overtime to upset Air Force, 4-3, and come back to win the series in three games after falling behind after one game. Defenseman Matt Williams' point shot 4:49 into overtime was the difference for the Purple Eagles.

Canisius hung on for a 3-2 upset victory over Bentley. The Golden Griffins, the defending tournament champions, advanced to the semifinals as the No. 7 seed for the second consecutive season. Mitch McCrank registered a hat trick and Tony Capobianco stopped 38 of the 40 shots he faced.

In total, three of the four teams to advance were the lower seeds. The Atlantic Hockey Association regular season champion Mercyhurst Lakers were the only higher seed to move on to Rochester.

Semifinals:

No. 7 Canisius vs. No. 1 Mercyhurst

No. 6 Niagara vs. No. 5 Robert Morris
