The Atlantic Hockey Association suspended Bentley University sophomore forward Tyler Deresky on Tuesday morning. Commissioner Bob DeGregorio announced the supplemental discipline for the infraction during the Falcons' 6-3 loss against Sacred Heart last Saturday evening.
Deresky was whistled for a two-minute minor for boarding, but the league determined it was not sufficient punishment. The final few minutes of the game was marred by several ugly incidents just seconds apart. Following Deresky's penalty, Bentley forward Alex Kubiak was assessed a five-minute major and game disqualification for checking from behind.
Both Kubiak and Deresky will miss the team's next game against Rensselaer this Friday evening. They will be eligible to return for the series finale on Saturday.
