Robert Morris University has announced the promotions of two assistant hockey coaches. Head coach Derek Schooley and the school elevated Matt Nicholson and Mark Workman from assistants to associate head coaches.
Both Nicholson and Workman are entering their fifth seasons at the school that just began competing in Division I a decade ago. Schooley has been the only head coach in program history. The Colonials, competing in Atlantic Hockey, hosted the 2013 Frozen Four in Pittsburgh, Penn. this past April.
Workman came to RMU from Brown where he worked as an assistant. He played collegiately at Division III St. Scholastica. Nicholson played college hockey for Don Vaughn at Colgate University.
