Federal Government Shutdown Won't Prevent Army from Playing at Penn State

Penn State will play its first game in the Pegula Ice Arena on Friday at 8 p.m.

USA TODAY Sports

There was serious concern that Penn State's anticipated opening of Pegula Ice Arena might not go off as scheduled. However, Army has confirmed that it will be able to play the game Friday at 8 p.m. at Penn State's brand new facility despite the government shutdown.

Army was picked to finish 10th in the Atlantic Hockey Preseason Coaches Poll while the Nittany Lions were pegged 6th in the newly formed Big 10 Hockey Conference.
