Outgoing New Hampshire senior forward and Hobey Baker finalist Tyler Kelleher has signed a contract with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL for the remainder of this season, and next season.
Kelleher was one of the most dynamic players in the NCAA this season. He’s currently tied with recent Pittsburgh Penguins signee Zach Aston-Reese atop the national scoring race with 63 points, thanks to a 24-39-63 scoring line in 40 games this season.
While he’s a dynamic offensive talent, questions about his size and struggles in the defensive zone likely kept him from landing an NHL deal immediately.
The AHL deal, which runs through the end of next season, will give Kelleher the chance to eliminate some of those concerns and earn an NHL contract.
