The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Monday that they have signed Miami outgoing senior forward Anthony Louis to an entry-level contract. Louis was drafted by the Blackhawks in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Draft with the 181st overall pick.
Always an excellent skater with terrific quickness, Louis developed a more skilled offensive game over the course of his four years at Miami. This past season, Louis had a 14-25-39 scoring line in 36 games for Miami, while serving as the team’s alternate captain.
We ranked Louis as the 82nd-best NHL prospect in the NCAA this past season. Louis signed a two-year deal with the Blackhawks that is set to begin next season. He will finish this season on an ATO with the Blackhawks AHL affiliate in Rockford.
