USHL Fall Classic West

The Omaha Lancers will host the 2016 USHL Fall Classic West Thursday through Sunday at the Ralston Arena.

With each club from the Western Conference as well as the U.S. Under-18 Team being in attendance, the event will bring together plenty of college coaches and NHL scouts. Red Bull Salzburg will also be competing in the tournament.

In conjunction with the USHL games, there will also be a midget minor (16U) tournament going on at the same time. It will be a good opportunity for USHL organizations to watch 2001-born prospects that will be eligible to be tendered or drafted next May.

Chicago Mission and Honeybaked highlight the 16 midget minor teams that will be competing in the youth tournament, which has been sliced into four divisions.

Chicago Mission, Colorado Thunderbirds, Belle Tire and Minnesota High Performance League Blue are in the Pacioretty Group. In the Eichel Group, Minnesota Blades, Team Wisconsin, Team Illinois and Anaheim Jr. Ducks will clash. The Gaudreau Group consists of Compuware, Dallas Stars Elite, Fox Motors and Minnesota High Performance League Maroon. Honeybaked, Omaha AAA, Oakland Jr. Grizzlies and Los Angeles Jr. Kings are in the Pavelski Group.
