The University of North Dakota women take the ice in a few hours to open their season against Mercyhurst. Taking the ice for the Fighting Hawks will be junior forward Lisa Marvin:

Marvin was lucky to be alive after being struck by a car in November of 2014, and her return to the ice less than two years after sustaining major injuries—including essentially reconstructing her knee and arm—is near miraculous.
Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald wrote a terrific in-depth feature on the nature of the accident, as well as her progress through her recovery. For her to make it back on the ice for a competitive game is truly remarkable.
