Penn State Names Alex Dawes Director of Hockey Operations

Penn State head coach Guy Gadowsky announced the hiring of Alex Dawes as the hockey program’s new Director of Hockey Operations.

Dawes comes over from the women’s program where he served as an assistant coach. A 2012 graduate of Utica College, Dawes spent time as an assistant coach at that program before heading to State College. He also has experience working with USA Hockey, breaking down video for the women’s Under-18 team.

Dawes replaces Bill Downey who recently took a position with the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
