Mick Hatten of the St. Cloud Times reports that St. Cloud State senior forward Kalle Kossila has signed a two-year entry level contract with the Anaheim Ducks:
BREAKING: Just spoke with Kalle Kossila, who has signed a two-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks. Story soon
— Mick Hatten (@MickHatten) March 30, 2016
Kossila was the Huskies' leading scorer this season with 14-40-54 in 41 games, tying him for fifth nationally in scoring. Despite an injury-plagued junior season, Kossila finished his career at St. Cloud State with 153 points in 157 games.
Kossila, a native of Finland, is a prototypical playmaking forward. He has decent speed, but the area where he really excels is with his stick-handling and passing ability. He drives possession and draws defenders to him, freeing up teammates for scoring opportunities. He's not a big forward, but is smart in the defensive end. He was also good in the face-off circle, winning 58.1% of his face-offs this season.
