USA Hockey announced their roster of 21 players that will compete in this year’s World Junior A Challenge, this year held in Bonnyville, Alberta December 11-17.
The roster is comprised entirely of players playing in the USHL this season, though one roster spot remains unfilled. It was rumored that the US was interested in adding Casey Mittelstadt, who was leading the USHL in scoring prior to returning to Eden Prairie for the Minnesota high school hockey season. That open spot could potentially go to Mittelstadt, though the date of the tournament would force him to miss up to four of Eden Prairie’s games, including some against top-ranked competition.
