Hockey East Suspends UVM Coach Kevin Sneddon

Matt Dewkett

Hockey East suspended University of Vermont head coach Kevin Sneddon for one game, the league announced Monday afternoon.

The reason for the suspension was "inappropriate behavior directed towards game officials," according to the press release. "Coach Sneddon has admitted that he lost his composure on the bench," said Hockey East Commissioner Joe Bertagna. "He has accepted full responsibility for his actions and has already offered a formal apology to the on-ice officials."

Sneddon, the head coach at UVM since 2003, led the Catamounts to back-to-back 20-win seasons the last two years, but times have been tough this year. After being swept by Providence over the weekend, UVM is now 3-7-2 in Hockey East and 9-14-2 overall.
