Days after fall Orientation had started at Notre Dame, incoming Notre Dame freshman Christian Fischer signed an entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes, ending his college eligibility.
Proud to have signed my first NHL contract with the @ArizonaCoyotes . Thanks to everyone who has helped me get to this point! #Coyotes

Fischer was selected 32nd overall by the Coyotes in this summer's NHL Draft. The big power forward for the US National Development Program was expected to make an immediate impact on Notre Dame's line-up. Fischer will most likely be sent to the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League.
