Though he only played one season of college hockey, there was little left for Eichel to accomplish at the NCAA level. He led the nation in scoring, helped lead Boston University to a Frozen Four championship game appearance, and won became the first freshman since Paul Kariya to win the Hobey Baker Award.
Eichel's contract with the Sabres is a three-year entry-level contract, and he is expected to be on the Sabres' opening night roster next season as the crown jewel of the Sabres' rebuild.
