Miami senior forward Blake Coleman has signed a two-year entry level contract with the New Jersey Devils. The Devils drafted Coleman in the 2011 NHL Draft in the 3rd round 75th overall.
Coleman's senior year with Miami last season was his strongest, scoring 20 goals and 17 assists in 37 games for the RedHawks. We ranked Coleman as the 43rd-best NHL prospect in the NCAA last season. His gritty, two-way game should make him an effective bottom six forward at the NHL level some day.
Here is a full scouting report on Coleman from this past November.
