Nate Leaman has hired Scott Borek to be his new associate head coach at Providence College. The 1985 Dartmouth alum comes to Providence after serving as an to Dick Umile at the University of New Hampshire since 2002.
Borek, a former Division I Head Coach at Lake Superior from 1995 to 2001, will be joining the Friars for his second stint behind the Providence bench. He was an assistant at PC from 1985 to 1989. Other stops for Borek include being an assistant at Brown as well as at Dartmouth where he was a student assistant after his playing career ended abruptly.
Borek was also a Division III head coach at Colby College and New England College. He replaces Steve Miller who left to go back closer to family in Colorado after just one season in Providence. Borek will join assistant coach Kristopher Mayotte on the Friar bench with Leaman.
