After helping lead Providence to the school's first national title, junior forward Noel Acciari has signed a two-year free agent contract with the Boston Bruins.
The junior forward from Johnston, Rhode Island was the second-leading scorer for the Friars last season, tallying a 15-17-32 scoring line in 41 games. After getting off to a dreadful start to the season with a just a single assist in his first 13 games, Acciari finished the year by scoring 31 points in his final 28 games and was especially critical in Providence's four-game run through the NCAA Tournament, registering a point in every game.
Acciari is a tough two-way forward that can affect the game even when he's not scoring with speed and physical play, and likely projects as more of a defense-first forward at the pro level. He'll likely begin next season with Boston's AHL affiliate in Providence.
