Cory Lavalette of our Carolina Hurricanes affiliate site Canes Country is reporting that Colorado College sophomore defenseman Jaccob Slavin will return to the Tigers for his junior season:
Source tells me Jaccob Slavin turned down the Canes offer to turn pro and will return to Colorado College for his junior year, named captain

Source told me Canes offered less bonus money than what Brett Pesce was given, so Slavin will return to CC hoping for big year, max bonus.

Slavin was a fourth round draft choice of the Hurricanes in 2012. Coming off a stellar freshman season, Slavin struggled in the first half of his sophomore season. He tallied just two points in 15 games before Christmas. But he rebounded closer to his freshman season form in the second half of the season with 15 points in his final 19 games.
Colorado College only won six games this season en route to a last place finish in the NCHC this season. The Tigers will be hoping for a stronger season next year in head coach Mike Haviland's second season. Returning their top defenseman will be a huge help to the Tigers in reaching that goal.
