RPI's Jason Kasdorf To Stay for Senior Season

RPI junior goalie Jason Kasdorf has announced that he will return to Troy, New York for his senior season. Kasdorf told the Saratogian that he wanted to return for his senior season rather than turning pro to "win a championship".

Kasdorf's NHL rights are held by the Buffalo Sabres, who acquired his rights from the Winnipeg Jets this past winter in a trade that involved the Sabres acquiring Evander Kane.

Kasdorf was outstanding in his first season with RPI, posting a 1.62 goals against average and .935 save percentage. His sophomore season was cut short by shoulder surgery which kept him out of all put two games. Kasdorf put together a respectable junior campaign after returning from surgery on an Engineers teams that struggled to a ninth-place finish in the ECAC. He ended the season with a 2.97 goals against average and .902 save percentage.

His return should play a key role in RPI having a bounce back season next year.
