Quinnipiac senior forward and co-captain Matthew Peca has signed an NHL contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the club announced today.
The small centerman was a seventh round draft selection of the Lightning in the 2011 NHL Draft. Peca averaged just under a point-per-game in his four year career with the Bobcats, reaching the 30-point milestone in each of his four seasons.
Peca signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Lightning that will begin starting next season. Peca will finish the season by reporting to the Lightning's AHL affiliate in Syracuse.
