Jonny Brodzinki Signs with Los Angeles Kings

Matt Christians

St. Cloud State junior forward Jonny Brodzinski announced via Twitter that he will forego his senior season to sign with the Los Angeles Kings:

Brodzinski is a remarkable story. After scoring just 12 goals in 68 career USHL games, Brodzinski developed into one of the best pure goal scorers in college hockey, tallying over 20 goals in all three seasons he played college hockey. He had one of the best shots in college hockey, and over the course of his career at St. Cloud State, improved his skating and defensive play to become a more complete, all-around player, and be the heart-and-soul leader of his St. Cloud State team this past season.

After being passed over twice in the NHL Draft, Brodzinski was selected in the 5th round of the 2013 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings following his freshman season at St. Cloud State. We ranked Brodzinski as the 27th-best NHL prospect in the NCAA this season.
