Tournament MVP Jimmy Vesey scored twice to lead Harvard past Colgate, 4-2, to earn the school's first ECAC Hockey Tournament championship since 2006, the team's last trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Patrick McNally scored the game-winning goal in just his fifth game back after missing 16 games due to injury. Colin Blackwell, another player who just returned from injury, added an empty net goal for insurance. Senior goaltender Steve Michalek made 30 saves for his 21st win of the season.
Darcy Murphy and John Lidgett had the goals for Colgate, whose season comes to an end by virtue of falling just short of the NCAA Tournament's Pairwise bubble. The Raiders, the preseason favorite in ECAC Hockey, just never was able to get it going completely this season, in part due to injuries of their own.
