Western Michigan's Kenney Morrison Signs with Calgary Flames

Matt Christians

Western Michigan junior defenseman Kenney Morrison has signed a two-year entry level contract with the Calgary Flames, forgoing his final year of eligibility. Morrison had a 5-10-15 scoring line for the Broncos this season and was the team's second-highest scoring defenseman.

Morrison checked in at #59 on our list of the Top 100 NHL Prospects in the NCAA. He's a bigger defender, but is more of an offensive-minded defenseman that uses a strong, heavy shot from the point to generate offense.

Morrison has signed an ATO with Calgary's AHL affiliate with his two-year contract beginning next season.
