D3 Hockey: Wentworth names Jay Pecora head coach

Wentworth Institute of Technology has named Jay Pecora its new head coach of the school's hockey program, replacing the departed R.J. Tolan, who left for the same gig at Endicott College.

Pecora, a New England College alum, has been Jeff Beaney's assistant coach at University of Southern Maine the past three seasons. Prior to that, the Stoneham, Mass. native was the head coach of one of the Portland Pirates' junior teams.

Pecora replaces Tolan, who had guided Wentworth to three regular season crowns in the past five seasons before departing to lead Endicott's progression from club level to Division III. Wentworth, a member of the ECAC Northeast, played most of its home games at UMass Lowell's Tsongas Center last season.
