Ohio State's Max McCormick Signs with Ottawa Senators

Ohio State loses another top scorer to the Senators.

Hannah Foslien

The Ottawa Senators announced on Wednesday that they have signed Ohio State senior-to-be forward Max McCormick to an entry-level contract.

McCormick is a 5-11 185 lbs. winger that was selected in the 6th round, 171st overall by the Senators in the 2011 NHL Draft. McCormick was second on the Buckeyes in scoring this past season with a 11-24-35 scoring line, trailing only teammate Ryan Dzingel, who also signed with the Senators early this spring.

McCormick is a responsible two-way player with good hockey sense that is more of a playmaker than a goal-scorer. He'll likely spend some time with the Senators AHL affiliate in Binghamton before he is ready to play in the NHL.
