BRIDGEPORT, CONN. -- Providence College has taken a commanding 4-0 lead over Quinnipiac after two periods in the NCAA Hockey East Regional at the Webster Bank Arena.

Providence freshman defenseman Anthony Florentino's wrist shot from the point beat Quinnipiac goaltender Michael Garteig high blocker side to give the Friars a 2-0 lead at the 5:10 mark of the second.

Shane Luke banged home a rebound just under three minutes later on a nice transition play. Ross Mauermann found Kevin Hart trailing the play who took a huge slapper. The rebound caromed right to Luke who easily knocked it in.

Trevor Mingoia batted the puck in midair into the net on the power play at the 14:19 mark to extend the Friars lead to four. Nick Saracino picked up the lone assist on the goal.

Jon Gillies has been tremendous, stopping 24 shots through two periods. Garteig has stopped 13 of the 17 shots he's faced, but can't be blamed for the misfortune of the Bobcats.
