Union claims third straight ECAC Hockey Title
Five different players scored goals as Union College won its third consecutive ECAC Hockey Tournament Championship with a 5-2 victory over Colgate. Third year head coach Rick Bennett has led his team to the Whitelaw Cup in each of his three seasons.

Sophomore sensation Tyson Spink's goal 58 seconds into double overtime propelled Colgate University past Quinnipiac in the second semifinal at the 2014 ECAC Hockey Championship at the 1980 Rink at Herb Brooks Arena.

How valuable is Jordan Samuels-Thomas to the Quinnipiac hockey team? The senior missed six games in the month of February with an injury and the Bobcats went 1-4-1 without him in the lineup. With Samuels-Thomas, the Bobcats were 23-4-5.

The top four seeds all moved on from the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals, setting up two exciting semifinal contests on Friday at the 1980 Rink at Herb Brooks Arena. Union will take on Cornell at 4 p.m. followed by Colgate and Quinnipiac doing battle.

Cornell completes Lake Placid field
Brian Ferlin's goal 12:32 into the first overtime period ended a scoreless tie and sent the Big Red of Cornell off to the ECAC semifinals on Friday at 1980 rink at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid.

Three of the four teams that will compete for the Whitelaw Cup as ECAC Hockey Tournament champion in Lake Placid next weekend are set. The top three seeds in the tournament, Union, Colgate and Quinnipiac, all moved on to the semifinals.

2014 ECAC Hockey Tournament: Quarterfinals preview
The Whitney Ave. rivalry between Quinnipiac and Yale is certainly the showcase series of the four quarterfinal matchups, but the other intriguing series is in Ithaca where Cornell hosts Clarkson. Colgate hosts St. Lawrence and Dartmouth visits Union.
