Orono, Maine -- Providence College goes for the weekend sweep of the University of Maine on Saturday night with two valuable Hockey East points on the line, as both teams make their final push towards the 2014 Hockey East Tournament.
The Friars won, 4-2, on Friday night, thanks to the stellar play of Derek Army (3 assists), Noel Acciari (goal, assist) and Brandon Tanev (one goal). Jon Gillies stopped 28 shots for the victory.
The Friars are going with the exact same lineup as Friday while the Black Bears are making some line combination adjustments as well as inserting Josh Henke for Will Merchant.
Both teams can guarantee themselves a first round bye and home ice in the quarterfinals with a victory on Saturday night. The game is the final regular season contest at Alfond Arena for five Black Bears seniors.
