Beanpot score update: Fitzgerald's goal puts Eagles on top of Boston University

Fitzgerald finds the twine: Ryan Fitzgerald has led all of BC's freshmen in scoring this season. In the first, he was able to connect on the power play—his ninth goal of the season—in the building of the NHL team that drafted him just last year. (Fitzgerald was a 4th round pick by the Bruins in 2013).

Demko keeps consistent: Jerry York said his team will now go with the hot goalie, and for the time being, it's Thatcher Demko. The freshman didn't have to make a number of quality shots in the first period (facing 10 total), but was good when called upon, turning away all Terrier chances.

One goal win? The last nine Beanpot meetings between Boston College and Boston University have been decided by a goal. While it's not like the Eagles to cap their scoring at one, the team's have traditionally played tight games.
