Notre Dame recruit Joe Wegwerth is a big, hulking forward who projects as a fourth line grinder at the professional level. The Brewster, NY native will be heading to South Bend to play for Jeff Jackson's Fighting Irish in the fall after spending the past two seasons in Ann Arbor with the US National Team Development Program.
Wegwerth lacks offensive skill, but he is a player that a team could covet late in the draft. NHL Organizations are always looking for players who can fill roles -- and Wegwerth can do just that.
