Boston University senior-to-be Sahir Gill confirmed rumors that he was leaving Boston University by tweeting the following this afternoon:
Thank you to BU for the opportunity and lifetime of memories & friendships made. Honoured to be a Terrier, but excited for what lies ahead!

Gill scored 10 goals and 12 assists last season after scoring 25 and 31 points as a freshman and sophomore respectively with the Terriers. It's unclear at this time what Gill's next step will be. He is an undrafted NHL free agent, leaving him free to sign with any team.
Gill was a highly-touted recruit coming out of Vernon in the BCHL, but the smallish 5'10" 180 lbs. forward was never quite able to effectively make the transition to the physical rigors of college hockey to become an elite scorer. His departure is a tough blow for BU and incoming head coach David Quinn in his first season at the helm, as the Terriers will miss his scoring and experience.
