Coming off arguably the best season since 1989 for the conference, the ECAC Hockey League has partnered with Fox College Sports to broadcast the semifinals and finals of the league tournament from the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY.
"We are thrilled to once again partner with Fox College Sports as our men's championship returns to Lake Placid," said Commissioner Steve Hagwell in a press release issued by the ECAC. "The league is committed to showcasing its marquee event. This partnership gives us an opportunity to bring our league and member institutions to a wider audience," the commissioner added.
The semifinals will be broadcast on Friday, March 21 at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. while the championship will be Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. Union College won the 2013 ECAC Tournament in Atlantic City, NJ to capture the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Quinnipiac was the overall number one seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament and advanced all the way to the national championship game. The Bobcats came up short to conference and in-state rival Yale University. The Bulldogs captured the first national championship for an ECAC team since Harvard won it all in 1989. All three ECAC teams to make the 2013 NCAA Tournament won at least one game. The Union Dutchmen upset Boston College in the first round before bowing out to Quinnipiac in the East Regional finals.
