Former University of New Hampshire forward Josh Ciocco will be one of Matt Thomas' assistant coaches at Alaska-Anchorage. Thomas was hired last month to be the new coach of the Seawolves hockey program after Dave Shyiak was fired earlier this offseason. He retained T.J. Jindra from the previous regime, but hired Ciocco to fill out his staff.
Ciocco played four seasons for Dick Umile at UNH before a brief professional career in the ECHL. The New Jersey native played three seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) so he has some knowledge of the prime UAA recruiting base. He has been a scout for US Hockey Report and an assistant coach at the prep school level for Milton Academy.
