Colorado College has confirmed that Scott Winkler, a forward on their hockey team that graduated earlier this spring, was found dead in his parents' home in Asker, Norway on Wednesday evening.
Winkler was a third round draft pick of the Dallas Stars in 2008, and one of the more promising prospects to come out of Norway. He represented Norway twice at the World Junior Division I tournament. In four seasons with Colorado College, the tall power forward, played 120 total games, registering 24 goals and 39 assists. This past season was his career-best, when he tallied 13 goals and 15 assists for the Tigers.
Details are on Winkler's death are still unknown, but thoughts and prayers go out to Winkler's family, as well as the Colorado College hockey community on this terrible loss.
