According to Jasper Kozak-Miller of Over the Boards and verified by a source within the hockey program, Brown will name Mike Levine as its second assistant. The Sandwich, Mass. native has turned Kimball Union into a prep hockey power the past two seasons.
Levine will be replacing Mike Souza who left to take an assistant position at the University of Connecticut under new head coach Mike Cavanaugh. Levine played college hockey at Division III Utica College, graduating from the upstate New York college in 2005.
Levine has coached some elite college prospects the past two seasons at KUA, including Boston University recruits Nick Roberto and Doyle Somerby, Boston College recruit J.D. Dudek, Providence recruit Niko Rufo, UMass recruit Casey Miller, Merrimack recruit Alex Carle and Penn State recruit A.J. Greer.
Brown alum Brendan Whittet just completed his fourth season as head coach of the Ivy League school in Providence, RI. Former UNH defenseman Mark White is his first assistant.
