According to our own Chris Dilks, Detroit Catholic Central High School forward Michael Babcock has committed to Merrimack. He is the son of Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock.

The 5-foot-10, 158-pound Babcock led Catholic Central in scoring as a senior, registering 18 goals and 42 points in 30 games to go along with 24 penalty minutes.

Cedar Rapids took Babcock in last year's USHL Draft. According to Mike McMahon of College Hockey News, it is likely Babcock will play for them this upcoming season.
