Hockey East will return to Fenway Park next January for the 2014 Frozen Fenway with some new faces gracing the ice at the iconic ballpark.
The league will split the four games into two consecutive Saturdays, starting January 4th. Merrimack and Providence will play a non-league game at 4p.m. followed by the marquee match-up between Notre Dame and Boston College. The Irish will be joining Hockey East when league play starts in October. Jeff Jackson's program had been a member of the CCHA.
The following Saturday, UMass-Lowell will play Northeastern followed by Maine taking on Boston University.
Besides the Merrimack-Providence tilt, it is not yet known if the other games will be played as conference or non-conference games. Merrimack, Providence, Notre Dame and UMass-Lowell will be making their debut playing at Fenway Park.
