Yale junior forward Clinton Bourbonais tipped in a Gus Young shot from the point with just over three seconds to play in the second period to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the NCAA Finals at the CONSOL Energy Center. It appeared to be a harmless shot from Young, but Bourbonais re-directed it past Quinnipiac senior goaltender Eric Hartzell.

The game had remained scoreless for much of the first two periods despite physical, intense play that provided fans with plenty of reason to be on the edge of their seats.

Quinnipiac holds the edge on shots on goal 26-23. Yale senior goaltender Jeff Malcolm has stopped everything sent his way including some quality scoring chances from Jordan Samuels-Thomas and Matthew Peca.
