St. Cloud State senior forward Ben Hanowski has signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Calgary Flames. The Little Falls, Minn. native was traded from Pittsburgh in the Jarome Iginla deal.

Hanowski's college hockey career came to an end Thursday night, ironically enough in Pittsburgh, when his Huskies lost to Quinnipiac 4-1 in the Frozen Four semifinals. He is the second Huskie to sign an NHL contract since the conclusion of the season. Drew LeBlanc signed with the Chicago Blackhawks the same day he won the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.

Hanowski had 17 goals and 14 assists in 37 games played this season. For his four-year career, he had 62 goals and 51 assists.
