RPI Extends Seth Appert's Contract

Appert will be with Engineers until at least 2020-21.

With rumors swirling that he was a prime candidate to take over the vacated Denver head coaching job, RPI has chosen to extend the contract of their head coach, Seth Appert, through 2020-2021.

Appert has been with RPI for seven seasons, compling a 99-136-31 record. Though that record isn't stellar, Appert has acquired 68 of those wins in the past four years, including a 20-13-5 campaign in 2010-2011 that earned RPI their first NCAA tournament bid since 1995.

Appert took the RPI job after serving as an assistant on George Gwozdecky's staff at Denver, and rumors were that he was a top candidate for that job. Now, he will be at RPI for the foreseeable future, which is a great coup for the RPI program.
