UMass Lowell coach Norm Bazin wins Spencer Penrose

Second year coach Norm Bazin has led his team to the Frozen Four. He was named the winner of the Spencer Penrose Award given to college hockey's top coach.

UMass Lowell coach Norm Bazin has won the Spencer Penrose Award given annually to the top coach in college hockey. The former River Hawk is back at his alma mater after being the head coach of Division III Hamilton College. In two years at UML, Bazin has led his team to consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament.

This year the River Hawks won the regular season and tournament titles in Hockey East for the first time in program history. Bazin also spent time as an assistant coach at Colorado College in before taking the top job at Hamilton. Following his playing career, Bazin was an assistant at UMass-Lowell.
